The Silent Chef was formed in 1953 by James M. Linnehan, a prominent Boston Caterer. Mr. Linnehan ran The Silent Chef until the mid 1970's. After many years in the South Shore restaurant and catering scene, Kim Luque, Donny and Tory Fait purchased a local Scituate Catering company and reopend The Silent Chef in 1991.
The family-owned company has established an impressive reputation for pleasing palates for groups large and small. Today the company employs over 60 people and caters hundreds of events with a personal commitment to quality, personalization and detail. We are pleased to announce over the years you have said the same. In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 The Silent Chef was the recipient Best of Catering on The South Shore living annual "Best if" the South Shore. In addition 15 years in a row, The Silent Chef has been voted not only best of Scituate but Best of the Regionals in CAtering by the Marinier Newpapers.
